Zimmah
        (purpose).
        1. A Gershonite Levite, son of Jahath. 1Ch 6:20 (B.C. after 1706.)
        2. Another Gershonite, son of Shimei, 1Ch 6:42 possibly the same as the preceding.
        3. Father of ancestor of Joab, a Gershonite in the reign of Hezekiah. 2Ch 29:12 (B.C. before 726.) At a much earlier period we find the same collocation of names, Zimmah and Joah as father and son. 1Ch 6:20
