What is Talitha-cumi?
        TAL'ITHA-CU'MI
, a phrase in the Syro-Chaldaic language, the literal translation of which is given by the evangelist: "Damsel" (or "maiden"), "arise." Mark 5:41. Several scholars contend that Taleitha Kum is the true reading, corresponding with the Aramaic and with similar phrases in the Talmud.
