Who are the Lehabim?
LE'HABIM
(fiery, flaming), Gen 10:13; 1 Chr 1:11, LU'BIM or LIB'YANO, Dan 11:43; 2 Chr 12:3; 2 Chr 16:8; Nah 3:9; is the name of a people which in the Egyptian inscriptions is called "Lebu," and in classic and modern literature "Libyans." They were of Hamitic descent, and inhabited the northern part of Africa, west of Egypt. At Carthage they were thrown back toward the interior by a Phoenician colony, at Cyrene by a Greek colony; and the country Libya became finally a part of the Roman empire. In the oldest times, however, the Libyans seem to have been allies rather than the subjects of the Egyptians.
