What is Hobah?
        HO'BAH
(hiding-place), a place beyond Damascus to which Abraham pursued the confederate kings. Gen 14:15. Two miles to the north of Damascus is Jobar, which the Jews regard as the Hobah of Scripture. There they had a synagogue dedicated to Elijah. Others fix the site at Buzrah, 3 miles north of Damascus: Delitszch suggests Hoba, a fountain near Karzetan, as Hobah.
