The Teaching of the Pharisees

The emphasis of the teaching of the Pharisees was, for the most part, moral rather than theological. They themselves got entangled with the legal minutia and the great mass of theology about the Law. Their main downfall was in not following the principles that they themselves taught but made the Law a burden with their oral traditions

It was claimed by the Sadducees that these distinctive teachings of the Pharisees (i.e., resurrection and the after life; angelology and demonology) had been borrowed from the Persians and Babylonians, and especially the Zoroastrian religion.
