The Voice of God Spoke

The voice of God said, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him. Just like Moses and Elijah representing the body of the Scriptures were witnesses to the glory and work of Jesus, so the Father is testifying to the person and message of Jesus Christ. Its interesting that the words that God spoke from the cloud This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased were clearly reinforcing the words spoken by God in the Old Testament about His Servant, the Messiah: Isaiah 42:1 - Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth. When God spoke he also said Hear ye him which was also reinforcing the Old Testament in the word spoken by God to Moses in a prophecy about the Messiah in Deuteronomy 18:18-20: Deuteronomy 18:18-19 - I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
