The "flight of stairs" (excavations at Hazor)

A flight of stairs leading westward from the podium in Area M. The stairs - like the floor and podium - are made of basalt indicating the significance of this area. Photo is taken at the end of excavations in 1995. Two more stairs leading to a pebble-paved floor were excavated in 1996.
