Sallai in the Bible Encyclopedia - ISBE
sal'-a-i, sal'-i (callay; Salom; Codex Alexandrinus Salo, with
variants):
(1) Eponym of a Benjamite family which settled at Jerusalem
after the return, descendants of "Sallu" (1 Ch 9:7; Neh
11:7,8); the pedigrees of Sallu differ decidedly in the two
passages. Curtis (ICC) suggests that "son of Hodaviah, the son
of Hassenuah" (Chronicles) is a corruption or derivation of
"Judah the son of Hassenuah" (Nehemiah).
(2) Name of a priestly family (Neh 12:20), called "Sallu" in
Neh 12:7.
