The Pleiades (pronounced /ˈplaɪ.ədiːz/, also [ˈpliːədiːz]; from the Greek Πλειάδες [pleːˈades], Modern [pliˈaðes]), companions of Artemis, were the seven daughters of the titan Atlas and the sea-nymph Pleione born on Mount Cyllene.
