Finding Stray Sheep
Straying sheep restored. It is very important that sheep should not be allowed to stray away from the flock, because when by themselves they are utterly helpless. In such a condition, they become bewildered, for they have no sense at all of locality. And if they do stray away, they must be brought back.
The Psalmist prayed the prayer: "I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant" (Psalm 119:176). The prophet Isaiah compared man's waywardness to that of sheep: "All we like sheep have gone astray" (Isaiah 53:6). David sang of his divine Shepherd: "He restoreth my soul" (Psalm 23:3, cf. John 10).
