Evagŏras in Harpers Dictionary of Classical Antiquities（Εὐαγόρας). King of Salamis, in Cyprus, from about B.C. 410 to 374. He was assisted by the Athenians in his wars against the Persians (Xen. Hell. ii. 1.29). There is extant an oration of Isocrates in praise of Evagoras and addressed to his son Nicocles, who succeeded him.
