DARIUS III 335-332 B.C. 31ST DYNASTY Darius III Codomannus was the last ruler of the Thirty-first Dynasty. He reigned for six years until the arrival of Alexander the Great. Alexander hunted Darius without result, for Darius was later murdered by one of his own generals: Bessus, the Satrap of Bactria.
