Calcium Deposits (France)
Calcium Deposits, Pont du Gard, near Nîmes (Roman Nemausus), France. These calcium deposits, precipitated from the locally hard water, accumulated in the main channel of the Roman aqueduct bridge Pont du Gard over the centuries during which it was in continuous use as part of the water supply of the Roman city of Nemausus.
