Josh, 6:26 ; 1 Kings 16:34. Called "the city of Palm trees" in Deut. 34:3 ; Judg. 1:16. The revived Jericho probably occupied a site near to old. It came into great importance, and is frequently mentioned in after history, 2 Kings 2:1-22 ; 25:5 ; Matt, 20:30 ; Mark 10:46.
