What is Timnah?
        TIM'NAH
(portion assigned), a name of two towns. 1. A town on the northern border of Judah, Josh 15:10, occupied by the Philistines. 2 Chr 28:18. This is probably the same place which is called Thimnathah, Thamnatha, and Timnath, and which apparently belonged to Dan. It is now represented by the modern Tibneh, a ruin on a hill 740 feet above the sea-level and 2 miles west from Bethshemesh. 2. A town in the mountains of Judah, south of Hebron, Josh 15:57,- probably a ruin called Tibna, near Jeba, and about 9 miles south of west of Bethlehem.
