, or SAL'MON (clothed, a garment). The son of Nashon, prince of Judah, and father or ancestor of Boaz, the husband of Ruth. Ruth 4:20 and marg.; 1 Chr 2:11; Matt 1:4-5. He is conjectured to be the same with the son of Caleb, the son of Hur, 1 Chr 2:51, since it is possible that Caleb adopted him.
