What is a Pine?
        PINE
Isa 41:19; Isa 60:13. This is mentioned as a tree of Lebanon. The root of the original word denotes "curvature" or "duration," neither of which meanings suits the pine. Tristram suggests the elm, a species of which grows upon Lebanon, and Gesenius the oak, but the proper translation is very doubtful. Another word is rendered "pine branches " in Neh 8:15, where the Oil Tree (to which refer) is undoubtedly meant. (See cut, p. 690.)
