Who is Nathan?
        NA'THAN
        (given). 1. A distinguished prophet of Judaea, who lived in the reigns of David and Solomon and enjoyed a large share of their confidence. 2 Sam 7:2. To him David first intimated his design to build the temple, and he was divinely instructed to inform the king that this honor was not for him, but for his posterity. Nathan was also charged with the divine message to David upon the occasion of his sin against Uriah, which he conveyed under the significant allegory of the rich man and the ewe-lamb. Nathan was one of David's biographers. 1 Chr 29:29, and also Solomon's. 2 Chr 9:29. 2. One of the sons of David by Bathsheba. 1 Chr 3:5. 3. Father of one of David's warriors. 2 Sam 23:36. 4. One of the chief men who returned to Jerusalem with Ezra. Ezr 8:16. 5. A descendant of Caleb. 1 Chr 2:36.
