What is Lo-debar?
        LO-DE'BAR
, a place in the tribe of Gad, not far from Mahanaim, north of the Jabbok, east of the Jordan. 2 Sam 9:4; 2 Sam 17:27. Here dwelt Machir the Ammonite, who assisted David when he retired from Absalom's usurpation, and in whose house lived Mephibosheth, Jonathan's lame son, who sat at David's table and received from him all that pertained to Saul and his house. Some suppose it to be the same as Debir, Josh 13:26, but by modern travellers it has not yet been identified.
