What is a Lap?
        LAP
, LAP'PETH. The Eastern people are accustomed to take up water in the hollow of the hand, and they do it with surprising agility, sitting on their heels with the face close over the water, and putting out the tongue to meet the water. The alertness of the men of Gideon was tested in this manner. Jud 7:5.
