What is Juttah?
        JUT'TAH
, a town in the mountains of Judah, in the same group with Maon and Carmel, Josh 15:55. It was allotted to the priests, Josh 21:16. Eusebius describes it as a large village, 18 miles southward of Eleutheropolis. Reland conjectured that this was the " city of Juda," Luke 1:39, in which Zacharias, father of John the Baptist, resided. But there is no positive evidence of this. Juttah is identified with Yutta, on a hill 5 miles south of Hebron. __________________________________________________________________ K.
