What is Hananeel?
        HANAN'EEL
(graciously given of God), a tower which formed a part of the wall of Jerusalem. Neh 3:1; Neh 12:39; Jer 31:38; Zech 14:10. It appears to have been between the fishgate and the sheep-gate, but can scarcely be identified with the tower of Meah, as some have proposed. Dr. Barclay suggested that in the projection at the northeast corner of the harem enclosure are to be found the remains of the tower of Hananeel.
