What is Cattle?
        CAT'TLE
Gen 1:25. In the common scriptural use of this term it embraces the tame quadrupeds employed by mankind, as oxen, horses, sheep, camels, goats, etc. Gen 13:2; Ex 12:29 and Ex 34:19; Num 20:19; Num 32:16, and Ps 50:10, and Job 1:3, where the word translated ''substance" would be more properly rendered "cattle." The allusion in Job 36:33 is explained by the well-known fact that certain animals of this class are peculiarly sensitive to the change of air which precedes rain.
