What is Adjure?
        ADJURE'
     1. To bind under a curse. Josh 6:26. 1. Solemnly to require a declaration of the truth at the peril of God's displeasure. Matt 26:63. Such is the interpretation of the language of the high priest, "I adjure thee," etc., or, "I put thee to thy oath," addressed to our Saviour when he declined to answer the false accusations of his persecutors. Compare 1 Sam 14:24 and 1 Kgs 22:16 with Josh 6:26.
