Who is Damaris?
        DAM'ARIS
(a heifer), a woman, probably of distinction, who was converted under Paul's preaching in Athens. Because she is mentioned, Acts 17:34, immediately after Dionysius the Areopagite, Chrysostom and others maintained she was the latter's wife. But the very mode of mentioning -"a woman named"-is against the conjecture.
