What is a Ceiling?
        CEIL'ING
We have a description of the ceiling of Solomon's temple and palace in 1 Kgs 6:9-10,2 Sam 20:15; 1 Kgs 7:3; 2 Chr 3:5. It was made of planks of cedar or fir "laid on beams or rests in the wall." Eastern floors and ceilings were just the reverse of ours. Their ceilings were of wood, painted, Jer 22:14, ours are of plaster; their floors were of plaster or some sort of tiles, ours are of wood.
