What is Bethsan?
        BETH'SAN OR BETH'SHAN
        a city 5 miles west of the Jordan, first in Issachar, but later in Manasseh. Josh 17:11; 1 Chr 7:29. Saul's body was fastened to its walls, 1 Sam 31:10, Jud 4:12; after the Captivity it was called Scythopolis, and was a chief city of Decapolis; now Beisan, having ruins of temples, colonnades, hippodrome, theatre, and city walls.
