What is Abba?
        AB'BA
        , the Chaldee form of the Hebrew word ab, signifying father. Applied to God in the New Testament by Christ, Mark 14:36, and by Paul, Mark Rom. 8:15; Gal 4:6. The syllable ab, in the sense of "possessed of," "endowed with," frequently occurs in the composition of Hebrew proper names; e. g. Abner, Absalom.
