Pirathon
        

In Ephraim "in the mount of the Amalekite" (who had an early settlement in the highlands) (Judges 12:15). The burial place of the judge Abdon, on a height six miles W. of Shechem (Nablus), now Fer'ata; or Fer'aun (Israel Exploration Quarterly Statement). Discovered by Hap-Parchi, an old traveler (Asher's Benj. of Tud. 2:426). David's eleventh captain for the eleventh month was of Pirathon, Benaiah of Ephraim (1 Chronicles 27:14).
