Fullers field

Isaiah 7:3; Isaiah 36:2. The "conduit of the upper pool was in the highway (the raised causeway) of the fullers' field," which would be in a position near water for washing, previous to drying and bleaching the cloth. The Assyrian army advanced on Jerusalem from the N. (Isaiah 10:28-32), the only accessible side for a host; Enrogel was on the S.E. But Rabshakeh and his companions probably left the army, and advanced along the E. of mount Moriah to Enrogel, to a convenient place under the temple walls for speaking.
