JEWISH HOURS OF PRAY'ER Prayer is no more confined to a particular hour than to a particular place. Comp. John 4:24. We may pray anywhere and at all times, and should pray without ceasing. 1 Thess 5:17. Nevertheless, it is good to observe special hours of prayer. The Jews prayed at 9 a.m., 12 n., and 8 p.m. To these were added the beginning and end of night and the time of meals. Ps 55:17; Dan 6:10; Luke 18:1; Acts 3:1; Neh 10:3, Neh 10:9, Ezr 10:30.
