(rest), a place on the boundary of Ephraim #Jos 16:6,7| east of Neapolis. A little less than twelve miles from Nablus and about southeast in direction, two miles from Akrabeh is the village of Yanun, doubtless identical with the ancient Janohah.

JANO'HAH (rest), a town on the north-east borders of Ephraim. Josh 16:6-7. At Yanus, about 8 miles south-east of Nablus, are extensive ruins, entire houses and walls, covered with immense heaps of earth, and these are identified as the site of Janohah.

On the border of Ephraim (Joshua 16:6,7). Now Yanun, about 12 miles S.E. of Nablus (Neapolis) or Shechem. N.E. of Yanun is Khirbet Yanun, which may be the site of the original town.
