beth-nimrah in Smith's Bible Dictionary
(house of leopards) one of the fenced cities on the east of Jordan taken and built by the tribe of Gad #Nu 32:36| and described as being in the valley beside Beth-haran. #Jos 13:27| In #Nu 32:3| it is called simply NIMRAH. The name still survives in the modern Nahr Nimrim, above Jericho on the Jordan.

BETH-NIM'RAH (house of leopards), a fenced city east of the Jordan, Josh 13:27; Num 32:3, Eze 23:36; same as Nimrah, and the modern Nimrin, on the Jordan, above Jericho. Some would identify it also with Beth-abara.
