APH'RAH (fawn, or dust), a place in the low-country of Judah. Mic 1:10. It has been identified by some with Ophrah, but there is evidence that it was west or south-west of, and not far from, Jerusalem.
aphrah in Fausset's Bible Dictionary
Micah 1:10. ("dust", which the following words, "roll thyself in the dust," allude to). Identified by Winer with Ophrah of Benjamin (Joshua 18:28); or, as Rabbi Tanchum, a town near Jerusalem. The prophet tells his countrymen not to declare their sorrow in hostile Gath, but in their own cities.
