kindred of the prince. (1.) The father of Nahshon, who was chief of the tribe of Judah (Num. 1:7; 2:3; 7:12, 17; 10:14). His daughter Elisheba was married to Aaron (Ex. 6:23). (2.) A son of Kohath, the second son of Levi (1 Chr. 6:22), called also Izhar (2, 18). (3.) Chief of the 112 descendants of Uzziel the Levite (1 Chr. 15:10, 11).

The chief of the 112 sons of Uzziel, a Junior Levitical house of the family of the Kohathites. #Ex 6:23; 1Ch 15:10,11| 3. In #1Ch 6:22| Izhar, the son of Kohath, is called AMMINADIB; probably a clerical error.

AMMIN'ADAB (one of the people of the prince). 1. The son of Ram or Aram, who was the great-grandson of Judah, and father of Elisheba, the wife of Aaron. He was in the line of Christ's ancestors. Ex 6:23; Num 1:7; Num 2:3; Num 7:12, Num 1:17;Num 10:14; Ruth 4:19, Ruth 4:20;1 Chr 2:10. 1. A Kohathite, and chief of the 112 sons of Uzziel. 1 Chr 15:10-12. 2. Put for Izhar, probably by copyist's error, in 1 Chr 6:22. AMMISHAD'DAI (one of the people of the Almighty), the father of Ahiezer, prince of Dan. Num 1:12;Num 2:25; Num 7:66,Num 1:71; Num 10:25.

("of the people of the prince"; else, "my people is willing".) 1. Song of Solomon 6:12; "My soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib," one noted for swift driving; compare Song of Solomon 1:9. Rather: "My soul made me like the chariots of my willing people" (Psalm 110:3), or else, "of the Prince of My people," Messiah. His chariots are His glorious angel escort. 2. Numbers 1:7; Numbers 2:3. Ancestor of David and Jesus (Matthew 1:4; Luke 3:3; Numbers 1:7; Numbers 2:3; Rth 4:19-20; 1 Chronicles 2:10). As Naasson, Amminadab's son, was prince at the first numbering of Israel in the second year from the Exodus, Amminadab probably died in Egypt before the Exodus, at the time of Israel's heaviest oppression. His daughter Elisheba married Aaron, and bore Nadab (named from Amminadab), Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar; the earliest alliance of the kingly line of Judah and the priestly line of Aaron. 3. Chief of Uzziel's 112 sons, whom David sent for to bring the ark to Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 15:10-12). 1 Chronicles 15:4. = Izhar, son of Kohath, father of Korah (1 Chronicles 6:22; compare 1 Chronicles 6:2; 1 Chronicles 6:18).
