Potipherah

"Devoted to Ra" the sun god, the priest of On or Heliopolis, the grand scat of sun worship. His daughter Pharaoh gave in marriage to Joseph. The Egyptians and Hebrew were not then so exclusive as afterward; Joseph was now naturalized with an Egyptian name, as viceroy. Asenath probably adopted Joseph's faith (Genesis 41:45; Genesis 41:50; Genesis 43:32; Genesis 46:20).
