Misrephoth maim

("burning of waters"), i.e. waters for smelting work or glass manufacture; or salt water exposed to the burning sun to obtain salt by evaporation. To this place, somewhere near Sidon, Joshua pursued the kings whom he conquered at the waters of Merom (Joshua 11:8; Joshua 13:6). Grove connects it with Zarephath.
