JOANNA
        1. Son of Rhesa (Luke 3:27). (See HANANIAH , 7).
        2. Wife of Herod's steward Chuza. She ministered from her substance to Jesus. It is a coincidence obviously undesigned, therefore confirming the truth of the Gospel history, that Herod therein is recorded as having "said to his servants, This is John the Baptist" (Matthew 14:2). She being our Lord's disciple He would be naturally often spoken of among Herod's servants, and to them Herod would speak concerning Him, Manaen, Herod's foster brother, was a church teacher subsequently (Acts 13:1). Joanna was also one of the women who brought spices early to the Lord's tomb (Luke 24:10).
