Bethpeor
        

A sanctuary of Baal Poor, E. of Jordan, over against Jericho; in Reuben's possession, Joshua 13:20. One of Israel's last halting places is called "the valley over against Baal-peor" (Deuteronomy 3:29; Deuteronomy 4:46). Here Moses was buried (Deuteronomy 34:6).
