What is El-elohe-israel?
        EL-ELO'HE-IS'RAEL
(strength of God), the name which Jacob gave to an altar near Shechein, Gen 33:18-20; probably the place where Abraham had built an altar. Gen 12:7. The el designates God as the mighty One, able to do whatsoever he pleased. He delivered Jacob, whose other name -- "Israel" -- denoted his power with God.
