Magor missabib
("terror on every side".) The name given by Jeremiah (Jeremiah 20:3) to Pushut when he smote and put him into the stocks for prophesying against Jerusalem. The phrase is frequent in Jeremiah, as Jeremiah 6:25; Jeremiah 20:10; Jeremiah 46:5; Jeremiah 49:29; Lamentations 2:22; elsewhere only Psalm 31:13. Pashur, whose name means "largeness on every side," was to become "terror on every side."
