Clay Model of a Sheep’s Liver Cuneiform Akkadian, Babylonian Inscribed Tablet A clay model of a sheep’s liver, which (along with the real organ) was used to train apprentice priests about the art of divination. Its sheep liver shape revealed a dire omen. The cuneiform writing on the left side foretells the "destruction of small towns."
